UPCOMING EVENTS

This Sunday, June 8, we will celebrate Pentecost, the day the Holy Spirit came like wind and flame and gave birth to the church.

We will hear the story through vivid decor, diverse languages, and Spirit-filled worship. We hope you will join us as we mark this special moment in the life of the church.

Please remember to wear red, a symbol of the flames of the Spirit that transform lives and continue to inspire us today.

Our Annual Valentine’s Day Dance

The LCGS held its annual Valentine’s Dinner Dance for adults with special needs on Saturday, February 15, 2025. The party was attended by 89 guests, plus their caregivers or parents, and 19 congregational volunteers. Guests enjoyed dinner of lasagna, salad, dinner rolls and butter. A new addition to the event was a dessert table offering cake, cupcakes, and beautifully decorated homemade cookies. Difficult choices had to be made. Our D.J., Madonna, played lively music from 6:30 to 9 p.m. enticing everyone to dance to oldies, the twist, rock and roll, and the ever popular “chicken dance.” Richard Green, our photographer, and his assistant snapped pictures of each party goer as a memento of the evening. Richard donates his time and materials each year to this party. Volunteers enthusiastically decorated the tables, baked lasagna, served food, poured lemonade, cleared tables, delivered photographs, and cleaned up. They were verbally thanked or hugged as our guests left the church smiling and feeling happy. This year, we were fortunate to be given a generous donation by the Haynes Family Trust to ensure a gala evening for our adults with special needs
